Giacomo Puccini's three-act 1910 opera La Fanciulla del West receives a new interpretation by New York's Metropolitan Opera in this 2011 stage production. It stars Deborah Voigt as Minnie, Lucio Gallo as Jack Rance, Marcello Giordani as Dick Johnson and Tony Stevenson as Nick. The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus lend accompaniment under the leadership of conductor Nicola Luisotti and chorus master Donald Palumbo, respectively; Michael Scott designed the sets and costumes; Barbara Willis Sweete directs for the stage.
