Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

Ironically, this Finnish exposé of the moral corruption of yellow journalism won an award from the very muckraking paper the film is criticizing. The movie follows the distasteful exploits of a journalist who systematically ruins the lives of his victims, and maneuvers his situation so as to profit even from that. One of his victims is a psychotherapist. First he reveals in print that she has been having an affair with a politician, then he destroys the faith one of her suicidal patients had in her, causing the patient's suicide. Finally, he enters into a suicide pact with her, but emerges from their attempt alive and well, selling the story of their pact to his paper.
