Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Newsman Ted Koppel explores the emotional and physical tolls of living with cancer by detailing the inspirational story of longtime friend and producer Leroy Sievers - who has documented his ongoing medical ordeal in an ongoing series of National Public Radio reports and a highly personal blog. They've traveled to some of the most dangerous corners of the planet together over the course of their fifteen year collaboration, and now as Sievers faces the greatest challenge of his life viewers are offered a remarkably candid account of what it's truly like to battle one of the most relentless killers known to man. From the painful treatments to the torment of pondering whether he has already seen his last Christmas, Sievers opens up to his longtime friend with an open and unguarded honesty that could only have occurred between two people who have shared so much of their lives together. Later, a town hall conversation in which Koppel and Sievers are joined by champion cyclist Lance Armstrong and Elizabeth Edwards allows for a frank discussion on the topic with a public audience.
