Synopsis by Clarke Fountain

This is one of the better-known films by Hungarian director Peter Bacso, who is best-known for his 1969 film The Witness. After trying repeatedly to find someplace to be alone with his girlfriend, Laci (Sandor Oszter) is fed up. He has no apartment himself, his girlfriend lives with a lot of other people in a communal room, and to top it all off, he has a job that's going nowhere. Just for the hell of it, he sets out to make a nuisance of himself to the authorities by making a public protest. For a little while it looks as if he might get away with this, but eventually they crack down. Now he has no job, no girlfriend, and almost no friends. Maybe now he will follow his co-worker's advice, and learn to use the system rather than be used by it?
