Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Dwight Wade (Mitchell Lewis) teaches school on the outskirts of the woods. He is in love with Elva (Mignon Anderdon), the daughter of lumber king John Barrett (Melbourne MacDowell). Barrett is not thrilled with this coupling, and to separate them, he gets Wade to go to work with his lumberjacks. The lumber king himself goes down to the camp -- his first time in 20 years -- and practically his first act is to burn down a squatters' colony. One of the squatters, a wild young lady known only as "Skeets' Girl," sets the forest on fire for revenge. Barrett is in danger of being burned to death, but even though Wade has already been fired by the camp boss, he puts out the fire. It turns out that "Skeets' Girl" is Barrett's illegitimate daughter, and he finally is forced to acknowledge her. By the time spring comes around, all is forgiven, the illegitimate daughter marries the camp foreman, and Elva marries Wade, who is now a manly lumberjack instead of a wimpy schoolteacher. Mitchell Lewis was famous in the silent era for his portrayals of macho outdoorsmen.
