Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

This European melodrama presents the saga of the family of Dr. Anton Costa. The tale is set in scenic northern Spain. Anton is an amiable fellow who spends much of his free time fly fishing in a local salmon stream. As the story begins, his wife Carmen has just born him Ana, his first child. Carmen's unmarried sister Elisa then bears a son, Cesar, whom she leaves with Carmen and Anton. Later Carmen bears a son, Fernando. As the children grow and become teenagers the red-headed, handsome Cesar has become the family darling while Fernando is ignored or treated unkindly. Ana has always had a thing for Cesar and becomes quite jealous when the wealthy and beautiful young Elena, moves in next door. Soon Cesar begins courting Elena, but he is really most interested in her father's money and influence. One day Fernando catches the "king of the river," the largest salmon in the stream. He generously gives the fish to the self-centered Cesar who in turn gives it to Elena's daddy. Later at a big party, Cesar ends up seducing both Elena and Ana beside a lake.
