Synopsis by Jonathan Crow
Continuing his string of films about India catering to the West, Himansu Rai stars and produces this romantic drama directed by former Royal Navy captain J.L. Freer-Hunt. The film centers on a princess (Devika Rani), who falls in love with the lower-ranking prince (Rai) of a neighboring kingdom, in spite of her father's strong disapproval. Shot in the Stoll Studios in London, this film scandalized Indian audiences with a passionate kiss between the two main characters. In spite of this, the film bombed at the box office.
