Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Karma is a Swiss-financed production, largely filmed in and around Saigon. The heroine is routed from her village by incoming Vietcong troops. With no home and no friends, she settles for the life of a Saigon prostitute. Her soldier husband, presumed dead, returns to find and ultimately reject his wife. Though its Vietnamese surroundings add sociological bite to Karma, the film is essentially a 1980s spin on an age-old tale.
