Synopsis by Jonathan Crow

Chaturbhuj Doshi directs this bucolic mythological fantasy about love and water. Beautiful village lass Raju (Dina Sanghvi) agrees to place her hand in a large pot containing a cobra. If the snake does not kill her, the challenge goes, she has the honored position of placing an icon in the local temple. The snake refuses to bite, and retreats to a nearby tree. Much to the chagrin of the evil Veera, Raju is in love with the rakish gypsy Madhav. When the snake bites the gypsy, it agrees to withdraw its poison if Madhav builds a well in the village. To the distress of the villages who are suffering through a drought, the well proves to be dry. Veera demands the human sacrifice of Raju and Madhav. Instead, another virtuous lass named Champa agrees to marry Veera and be sacrificed. After the two are beheaded, the water returns to the village.
