Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This quasi-documentary follows a celebrated Armenian pop singer and his friend as they travel all over the former Soviet Union interviewing exiles from their newly freed country. One man equates the Russian's domination of Armenia with that of the Ottoman Turks. Some left the country on their own, others were sent away. The question of what home is pervades the film, as do questions of national identity. The two men travel from Armenia to Moscow, Estonia and Siberia. Some actual documentary footage of Armenia's recent natural and man-made disasters brings the film to its conclusion.
