Generations of Swedish children have enjoyed the adventures of the cricket Kalle Stropp and his Frog Ball buddy since this cartoon series began in the 1940s, and this animated feature is only the latest in a long line of records, radio shows, books and plays which featured these comic-strip characters. In this animated story, in which most of the characters are voiced by the series' creator Thomas Funck, Kalle and his friends are struggling to protect their forest from those who would misuse it or destroy it.
