As the opening of chapter nine of Jungle Queen reveals, Bob Elliott (Edward Norris) and Pamela Courtney (Lois Collier) managed to escape the mine seconds before Dr. Elise Bork (Tala Birell) blew it up with her mortar grenades. Back at the British Colonial office in Tambosa, Commissioner Chatterton (Lester Matthews) receives a courier from London. But both the commissioner and Chuck (Eddie Quillan) smell a rat and, sure enough, the "courier" is a Nazi spy, the British messenger having been abducted en route. Before he expires, the real courier reveals that Lang (Douglass Dumbrille) is keeping Godac (Clinton Rosemond), the all-powerful Judge of the Tongghili Tribes, captive in a cave on Mt. Rudanza. Bob finds the cave easily enough but so, too, do a group of hungry lions. An attempt to escape by rope proves even more perilous when the rope breaks.
