Julia is a documentary that centers on the life of Julia Child, television personality and author of the seminal cookbook Mastering the Art of French Cooking, who rose to stardom in the 1960s. Through never-before-seen photos, archival footage, intimate interviews, and first-person narratives, the film recounts Child’s numerous struggles and successes as she forged a path toward becoming a culinary icon and changing the way Americans viewed food and women.
