Journey Into Thailand is a seven-part series examining the people, traditions, sights, sounds, and unique beauty of the country known as "the Land of Smiles." Part three, Tales of Gods and Demons, highlights the country's graceful dancers who perform in distinctive and colorful costumes. With Thailand's first dance troupe founded in 1431, dance has become an integral part of Thai culture. Program highlights include the 750-hour-long masked ballet, and a look at the dance drama Ramakien, a Thai version of the Indian Ramayana epic. Other programs in the series are City of Angels -- Bangkok, The Long March South, Lords of the Forest, Strength of the Land, The Other Thailand, and The Middle Path.
