Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
This documentary explores the territory north of the Oder and Neisse Rivers that were given to Poland at the end of World War II. In spite of the crushing poverty of the post-war Poles, they have rebuilt Danzig and other cities destroyed in battle with an eye towards preserving the Teutonic architecture. Hitler's policies are not side-stepped and are dealt with a historical accuracy that reflects what really occurred during the war and the ensuing changes in the aftermath.
