Japan's professional drifters face off against their most skilled American counterparts as the official D1 Grand Prix finally hits stateside shores with this release featuring round one of the 2004 racing season. In addition to all of the breathtaking footage one would expect from Japan's top racing event, this release also allows the viewer to take a ride on Katsuhiro Ueo's AE86, takes a look at the Pontiac GTO with Rhys Millen, and follows Nomu-ken to the pit for a wild look at the mechanical heart of the landmark race.
