Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Jamie Oliver, internationally popular star of such cooking shows as The Naked Chef and Oliver's Twist, unabashedly blew his own horn on this five-part series, first seen in the U.K. in 2002. In course of the series, Oliver trained 15 young, unemployed Londoners to work as chefs in his own new East End restaurant, Fifteen. In other words, the series was essentially a commercial for the ebullient Mr. Oliver's latest business enterprise. Debuting in America over the Food Network on October 13, 2003, Jamie's Kitchen followed up its brief run with a marathon showing of all five installments on October 19.
