Synopsis by Nathan Southern

Non-Stop Dancing guru James Last - the German-born arranger with a fifty-year signature style of reworking contemporary pop hits and standards within big-band and orchestral frameworks - became second only to Elvis Presley with the number of charting records he achieved between 1967-86 and enjoyed this broad success around much of the globe, a popularity that continues to this day. Last appears live in the home release, James Last: Live in London, leading his ensemble with a 1978 performance at the Royal Albert Hall. Last's interpretations include "Quando Quando Quando", the main theme from Star Wars, "I've Got You Under My Skin and "The Lonely Shepherd.". As two of Last's special guests, Zamfir plays a pan flute solo, and Benny Bendorff performs a vocal, "Mull of Kintyre."
