Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

This drama will be most meaningful to those familiar with modern Greek history. The story begins in 1960 as Phillio finally returns to her native Greece after a 25-year absence. She left Athens for the US in 1945; soon after her departure, her husband was killed. Now she has come back to reclaim an inheritance from her late mother-in-law's estate. She wants the money for her son, but she is strongly opposed by her old political adversary, her sister-in-law Dimitra, who assumes that Phillio is as wealthy as all Americans are supposed to be and doesn't really need it. The two women begin to argue vehemently and as they do, it is revealed that Dimitra is terribly angry that Phillio left at the war's end. Soon after it ended, Dimitra, a communist, was imprisoned and placed in exile.
