Synopsis by Janiss Garza

After the death of his friend, war correspondent Jaffery (C. Aubrey Smith) winds up taking care of his friend's wife, Liosha (Florence Deshon). He brings her to England from her Balkan home, and she comes to love him. But he has fallen in love with Doria (Eleanor Woodruff), who is betrothed to Adrian (Paul Douget), an unsuccessful young novelist. Adrian publishes a book which makes him famous; the only problem is that it was written by a deceased writer who had left the manuscript in his care. Naturally, Adrian can't come up with the goods a second time, and he dies before finishing his next work. Jaffery realizes this, and since Doria insists that the book be published, he replaces it with a story of his own to save Adrian's memory. When she finds out about the switch, Doria is mad at first, but then she discovers the truth about Adrian's talent, or lack of it. She offers to marry Jaffery out of gratitude, but Jaffery has finally realized that he loves Liosha after all. This film was based on a novel by William J. Locke.
