Synopsis
The 1945 Battle of Iwo Jima, a five-week battle between the U.S. Marines and Japanese Imperial Army that resulted in 28,000 dead, is recalled by four participants—three former Marines and one former Japanese soldier, including Medal of Honor recipient Hershel "Woody" Williams and Lt. Gen. Larry Snowden (USMC Ret.), who founded the Reunion of Honor 20 years ago so that both U.S. and Japanese veterans could return to the island in peace and friendship.
