This film surveys some of the stories used by Native Americans to tell of their past, and to instruct tribal members about cultural values. Native American philosophy is presented using the myths passed down through generations. The film starts with a look at the belief that all life forms -- "the two-leggeds, the four-leggeds, winged creatures, plants, trees, mountains, rivers, and seasons" -- can instruct people who are willing to listen to their wisdom. The film presents Native American paintings and stories that reflect the spiritual value that all beings are related and speak in metaphors.
