Synopsis by Mark Deming

The years 1975 through 1996 were turbulent ones for the British progressive- rock band Pink Floyd; they enjoyed their status as one of the world's most popular rock groups and released one of their signature albums, The Wall, but Floyd also went through an ugly power struggle over control of the band with bassist and songwriter Roger Waters leaving to pursue a solo career and guitarist David Gilmour reforming the band to his own specifications. Inside Pink Floyd 1975-1996 - A Critical Review uses rare performance footage to illustrate a panel discussion of writers and musicians as they analyze the band's history and the music they released during this period.
