Deep Purple are a band who have been able to maintain a strong and distinctive musical personality while dealing with a number of personnel changes over the years, and this documentary looks at two of the group's key lineups in the mid-'70s. Inside Deep Purple: A Critical Review, Vol. 2 -- 1973-1976 features a panel of musicians and writers discussing Deep Purple's musical legacy from this period, as well as how the arrival of new members impacted their sound and style. Also appearing is rare footage of group in concert, including the Tommy Bolin version of the band on-stage in Japan and a 1974 backstage interview with David Coverdale and Jon Lord.
