This film follows up on the spiritual truths pursued and examined in author Rodger Kamenetz's best-seller of the same title. As readers of the book know, Kamenetz based his writings on the 1990 pilgrimage of eight Jews to meet with Tibet's XIV Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India. The film delves deeper into the role that intense personal suffering plays in helping people discover human truths rarely understood by others. The New England Film and Video Festival bestowed its Outstanding Personal Vision Award on this program.
