Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
This powerful Palestinian documentary, the first to be made by a Palestinian and shown on Israeli TV, explores the very sensitive question of why Palestinians living in Israel would want to celebrate Israel's independence day. The day of Israel's gain is also the day of Palestine's greatest loss. The documentary was filmed in village of El Mashad, which is near Nazareth. Filmmaker Nizar Hassan interviewed Palestinian villagers about their feelings about the subject.
