Synopsis by Amanda Van Keuren

The history of Independence Day is the focus of this release from A&E. Although not a legal holiday until 1941, the anniversary of the birth of the nation has been celebrated, in one form or another, since the country's inception in 1776. From parades to fireworks, the whole scope of the tradition and its importance are discussed at length, with footage of Forth of July celebrations from all across the country.
