This Canadian children's program offered 15-minute adaptations of fairy tales from the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, Lewis Carroll and James M. Barrie. Setting the program apart from others of its ilk was its absence of dialogue: Dance and pantomime were the order of the day. Originally seen from November 12, 1956 to June 24, 1957, In the Story Book was aired live from the CBC's Montreal studios.
