Synopsis by Tracie Cooper

Directed by Rajesh Touchriver, In the Name of Buddha is set amongst the religious and ethnic violence of Sri Lanka, where, merely miles away from the Indian subcontinent, one of the worst occurrences of genocide in history has taken place. A large area of the population has been forced to leave their homeland and take asylum in bordering countries. The film, which has been banned in both India and Sri Lanka, won the award for Best Foreign Film at the Beverly Hills Film Festival in 2003.
