Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
Follow conductor Mariss Jansons' adaptation of Bela Bartok's controversial "Miraculous Mandarin Suite" from the planning stage to the premiere performance as cameras capture every moment of the preparation and resulting concert. A controversial composition which tells the tale of a prostitute who, along with her three accomplices, beats and robs her clients, Bartok's magnificent orchestral piece is expertly presented thanks to Jansons' meticulous planning with the Oslo Philharmonic.
