Synopsis by Carrie Downes
Made in collaboration with the AIDS Counseling and Education Group (ACE), this film takes a look at the experiences of HIV-positive women in correctional facilities. Many of these women prisoners are being discharged when they are found HIV-positive, without medical attention, referrals, or a support system of any kind. ACE was formed in 1989 by inmates at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility to help deal with the problem. It provides counseling and advocacy for recently discharged, HIV-positive women.
