Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

Treading the slim line between fact and fiction, this docudrama enacts fictional scenes of government violations of human rights based on the truth as the director and writer Stanislav Stanojevic sees it. He has arbitrarily chosen a date of November 10, 1983 and taken a peek at individual cases of repression. In Montevideo, plain clothes policemen murder a man then make it look like a suicide; in Zaire a man is arrested by mistake and then killed to cover up the mistake; and in Prague, a political dissident just released from prison is treated like a pariah. Along with these fictional cases are stories of people trying to change the situation -- from a farmer in France to a West German traveler and an Englishman in Geneva, these "nobodies" have a limited influence, perhaps because they are working alone.
