Synopsis by Gönül Dönmez-Colin

A team of journalists crossing the desert on the trail of Captain Yessou El Din, whose soldiers execute every man who survives the bloody civil war, record the horror. But Sarah Bloomenthal, an American and the only woman on the trek, seeks out the most savage images. At one point she meets a young girl who is looking for the corpse of her brother. Following her, Sarah comes face to face with the violence and blood that characterizes the end of the century. The images we see on screen are not much different than what we see on television everyday. Based on the myth of Antigone and resistance to authority, the movie tries to raise the same issues as the Sophoclean tragedy but in a contemporary context. The film was shot in Greece, Jordan and Syria. With this film, director Nikos Koundouros received the State Film Award for "Best Cinematography" at the Thessaloniki Film Festival, 1998.
