Synopsis by Hal Erickson

In the tradition of the earlier documentary series I Love the '70s and I Love the '80s, the ten-part BBC offering I Love the '90s provided viewers with a nostalgic, sometimes satirical backward journey through the titular decade. Everything from the Lara Croft video game to the Teletubbies was feted on the series, which made its first appearance on August 18, 2001. Each episode was hosted by a celebrity representative of the era, among them Sheryl Lee (of Twin Peaks fame), Heather Donahue (star of The Blair Witch Project), and even the animated duo Beavis and Butthead. While its two prototype series were offered in 60-minute doses, I Love the '90s (aka I Love 1990s, with a "heart" symbol replacing the word "love" in the opening credits) was seen on a weekly 90-minute basis.
