Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This ten-part series was a lightning-paced retrospective of popular culture in the 1980s, with enough highlights to make one nostalgic -- and enough lowlights to make one grateful to have survived the decade. The series' breezy irreverence extended to virtually every aspect of the era, including movies like E.T., TV series like Miami Vice, cultural icons like Milli Vanilli and the "Brat Pack," fads like Rubik's Cube, and overworked catchphrases like "Where's the beef?" The dizzying parade of vintage film and tape clips was seasoned by the reminiscences of current and past celebrities. I Love the 80s made its VH1 debut on December 16, 2002.
