Synopsis by Rovi
For the past two weeks, Ricky (Desi Arnaz) has been glued to the living room telephone, anxiously awaiting word as to whether or not he has landed the starring role in MGM's musical version of "Don Juan." During a period in which Ricky is forced to leave the house, a daydreaming Fred (William Frawley) scrawls the message "Hollywood called. You got the job," figuring that this is just what Ricky would like to hear. Of course, Fred intends to destroy the message, but distractions occur and the note lands in the hands of Lucy (Lucille Ball). Jumping to the obvious conclusion, Lucy excitedly passes the "news" on to one of Ricky's associates -- then must figure out a way to let Ricky down easy (and avoid bloodshed!) when the truth is revealed.
