Ricky (Desi Arnaz) works up the courage to ask for a raise from his boss, Mr. Littlefield (Gale Gordon), only to be informed that he is being replaced at the Tropicana Club by bandleader Xavier Valdez. Hoping to win back Ricky's job, Lucy (Lucille Ball) devises a scheme whereby she, Ethel (Vivian Vance), and Fred (William Frawley) show up at the club in various disguises to book reservations -- then to cancel them upon "discovering" that Ricky will not be appearing. Need it be added that the scheme backfires in an outrageous fashion? This was the final episode of I Love Lucy's first season.
