Synopsis by Robert Firsching

Spyros Ziangos directed and co-wrote (with Panos Kontelis) this typically Greek melodrama about a beautiful nightclub singer named Betty (Gizela Dalli) who lives alone in a rundown neighborhood. One of the old-time residents (Christoforos Nezer) comes back from America and Betty falls in love with his son (Lefteris Vournas). Suddenly, the claws come out of all the jealous neighborhood gossips, who spread all sorts of malicious rumors about the pretty young singer's supposedly wanton and immoral lifestyle. The constant slander begins to make the father of Betty's betrothed have his doubts about her suitability for his son, and he postpones the wedding. The determined young couple combats the rumors, however, and changes Nezer's mind enough to allow them to marry. Ioanna Mourouzi co-stars with Nikos Lykomitros and Tassos Yiannopoulos.
