Synopsis by Daniel Gelb
A group of Canadian soldiers serving in Afghanistan attempt to build a strategically important highway pass, all while enduring constant attacks from militants and trying to forge connections with friendly locals. Grizzled sharpshooter Ryan Sanders (Rossif Sutherland) is tasked with protecting the construction crews, which includes a mission to find an infamous jihadist. Written and directed by Paul Gross, Hyena Road received its world premiere at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.
