Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
The instinct to hunt and gather is buried deep in the collective human psyche. The days are largely over when people in civilized countries make their living that way. But the impulse lives on. This documentary provides a humorous look at that instinct expressing itself in the great American pastime of looking for treasures at the ubiquitous garage sale and flea market scene. Sometimes the treasure hunting uncovers a real treasure; other times, the treasure is only in the eye of the beholder. Film clips, photographs, and personal accounts are used to illustrate the story of these modern-day hunters and gatherers.
