Synopsis by Jonathan Crow
Veteran filmmaker Mehboob Khan directs this historical epic about 16th century emperor Humayan (Ashok Kumar). At the film's outset, the victorious Babar (Shah Nawaz) asks Rajkumari (Veena Kumari), the beautiful daughter of the defeated and slain Rajput king, to take her father's throne and to look upon Babar as her father. Later, Humayan makes a valiant effort to save Rajkumari from new perils. Meanwhile, Hamida Bano (Nargis) -- a commoner who falls for the handsome Humayan -- rejects his advances and his offer of marriage arguing that common women are seen as toys for the aristocracies.
