Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The British audience-participation series Hot Property was based on an Australian original, which first aired in 1999. On the British version, emcee Alice Beer invited prospective homeowners to look at videos of three "dream houses." Upon selecting the house they wanted, the homeowners-to-be had to figure out what the house cost while en route to the property. Whoever came closest to the list price (within 500 pounds) was given the house free of charge. Hot Property was beamed out to the British Isles beginning in 2001.
