Synopsis by Sarah Block
This Israeli documentary profiles young boys in Hope, one of Tel Aviv's poorest neighborhoods. This lower-class community's educational system is failing to keep its youthful inhabitants out of the vicious cycle of poverty, so many of the boys begin training to become professional soccer players at an early age as an attempt to escape their dire surroundings. The filmmakers focus on three of the players, their coach, and his son as they train for the games that they hope will help them escape their sad and desperate world.
