Synopsis by Betsy Boyd

Part of the History's Turning Points series, which explores pivotal moments in world history, History's Turning Points: The Siege of Constantinople looks behind the thick walls of Constantinople. For centuries, Byzantine kings lived safe and leisurely lives behind these walls, but in 1493, everything changed. The Turkish Ottoman rose up, encircling the city, and a piece of new technology, known as the cannon, took down the longstanding barricade. The program, designed for both students and history enthusiasts, uses on-location dramatizations to tell the story.
