Synopsis by Betsy Boyd
Part of the History's Turning Points series, which explores pivotal moments in world history, History's Turning Points: The Battle of Salamis focuses on the beginning of the Greek Golden Age. Viewers travel back in time to Salamis Bay, where the Greek army sank 200 Persian vessels. The excessively arrogant Themistocles helped win the battle for the Greeks but received no reward: His people would not honor a too-proud man. The program, designed for both students and history enthusiasts, uses on-location dramatizations to tell the story.
