Synopsis by Betsy Boyd

Part of the History's Turning Points series, which explores pivotal moments in world history, History's Turning Points: The Battle for Canada describes the fierce competition between British and French interests in North America. During the first half of the 18th century, British and French men of trade coexisted, but war eventually raged between them. Making the first battle move, British war minister William Pitt led his troops up the St. Lawrence. As winter approached, British soldiers suffered defeat. The program uses on-location dramatizations to tell the story.
