Part of the History's Turning Points II video series, which explores pivotal moments in world history, History's Turning Points II: Revolution in Paris describes the storming of the Paris Bastille, a symbol of royal control, and the birth of liberated France. The video tells the story of July 14th, 1789, the day hungry peasants freed the prisoners of the towering Bastille, murdered their governor, Monsieur De Launay, and forged a People's Republic. The program features on-location dramatizations and rare historical footage.
