Synopsis by Betsy Boyd
Part of the History's Turning Points II video series, which explores pivotal moments in world history, History's Turning Points II: Plot to Kill Hitler describes Nazi Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg's bold attempt to take Hitler's life. In July 1944, von Stauffenberg planted a bomb intended to kill his führer. For unlucky reasons, the bomb did not take Hitler's life, or even cause him to suffer a scratch. For the duration of World War II, Hitler would continue to slaughter men, women, and children. The program features on-location dramatizations and rare historical footage.
