Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This wordy Greek film tells the story of the great physician of the ancient world, Hippocrates of Kos. Its visual authenticity is enhanced by its being filmed in Greece. As with many physicians of recent eras, Hippocrates had to do battle with the superstitions of his patients and the quackery of his fellow doctors. The dramatic highlight of the film is the great physician's effort to cure an epidemic in Athens.
