Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The heroine of High Speed is Susan (Fritzi Ridgeway, who wants to marry the man of her dreams rather than the wealthy bore of her mother's choosing. Susan's father (Harry Rattenberry, a Casper Milquetoast type, sides with his daughter, though he dare not speak up to his social-climbing harridan of a wife (Lydia Yeamans Titus). It is up to Susan's sweetheart, the aptly nicknamed Speed Cannon (Jack Mulhall), to take matters into his own hands. After several plodding reels, High Speed comes to a rousing Fairbanksesque conclusion, wherein Speed and Susan dodge police motorcycles and hurtling trains in their mad dash to the Justice of the Peace. It would appear that Elmer Clifton directed the "plot" scenes, while George L. Sargent handled the action highlights.
